Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Phantom Labs ("we," "us") handles information when you use the SideGuide mobile application ("the App"). We've designed SideGuide to keep your data on your device. This page tells you what that means in practice.

1. What We Collect

We do not run a backend server, do not require an account, and do not collect personal information about you.

The App functions entirely on your device. The information SideGuide processes is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad and is not transmitted to us.

2. Information Processed Locally on Your Device

The following data is created and stored only on your device. It is not visible to Phantom Labs and is not sent anywhere.

• Saved places, chat history, and app preferences. Stored locally via Apple's SwiftData. Deleted when you delete the App.
• Approximate location (only if you grant the location permission). Used to center the map on your position. SideGuide does not record your location history.
• Microphone audio and speech transcripts (only if you grant microphone and speech-recognition permissions and tap the microphone button in chat). Audio is processed by Apple's Speech framework on your device. SideGuide does not store audio recordings.
• Subscription and purchase status. Provided to the App by Apple's StoreKit framework. SideGuide does not see your Apple ID, payment method, or billing information.

3. Information Handled by Apple

When you subscribe to SideGuide Pro or buy a city pack, the purchase is handled by Apple. Apple receives information necessary to process the transaction. SideGuide does not see this information.

Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's privacy policy, available at apple.com/privacy.

4. Optional Analytics

SideGuide includes an optional, anonymous analytics setting in Settings → Privacy. It is off by default. If you turn it on, the App may collect aggregate, non-identifying usage statistics (e.g. counts of features used). Even when enabled, the App does not transmit your queries, saved places, location, or any other content.

As of the effective date, no analytics provider is integrated; the toggle is a placeholder for future use, and we will update this Policy before any analytics service is added.

5. What We Do Not Do

• We do not sell or share your information with third parties.
• We do not display advertising in the App.
• We do not include third-party SDKs that collect personal data.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.

6. Children's Privacy

SideGuide is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The App can be used by anyone subject to Apple's age gates and the SideGuide Terms of Use.

7. Your Choices and Rights

Because the App stores all user data locally on your device:

• Access and deletion: uninstalling the App removes the associated data from your device.
• Permissions: you can grant or revoke location, microphone, and speech permissions at any time in iOS Settings → SideGuide.
• Subscription: you can manage or cancel your SideGuide Pro subscription in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, or via the in-app shortcut in Settings → Subscription → Manage subscription.

If a future feature changes how SideGuide handles information, we will update this Policy and notify you in the App.

8. International Users

The App is operated from the United States. If you use the App from outside the U.S., you understand that any local processing occurs on your device under the same terms described above.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective Date" at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated in the App.
